About Us

In 2020, the Church of England offered the deconsecrated St Peter’s Anglican Church (fondly known as the Pebble Church) for private sale. Amid community outrage, local Carapooee residents rallied to call for donations in a bid to ‘save’ our much-loved Church for our community. The response was overwhelming and within 2 weeks our shocked volunteers had raised the purchase price! You can follow the story of how we were able to purchase the Pebble Church by going to In The Media. Click here to see a list of all individuals who originally pledged funds to acquire the Pebble Church.
The Pebble Church Heritage Association Inc (PCHAI) was quickly established as an incorporated association to acquire and manage the building and its grounds. Since then, we have tirelessly worked on maintenance and repairs and are now able to host community events and offer the venue for hire for public and private celebrations.
PCHAI is a member-based organisation managed by a Committee of elected members, We are responsible for the maintenance and ongoing operational costs of the Pebble Church. To meet these costs we hold annual fundraising events, offer group tours, host events, encourage people to join our association and gladly accept donations.

THANK YOU
to a very special community!
PCHAI would like to acknowledge all of the individuals who originally donated funds to allow the purchase of the Pebble Church, keeping it available for our community to use and preserving our connection to our descendants, who toiled to build it.
